The plant will produce 600,000 tons of methanols a year, said China Coal Energy, without elaborating.
In addition, China Coal Energy and Inner Mongolia Yuan Xing Energy plan to start a coal project with annual output of 5 million tons in Inner Mongolia.
China Knowledge reported earlier that China Coal Energy saw coal output increase 5.4% year on year to 52.67 million tons in the first half of this year. In the same period, the firm's coal sales volume increased 4.2% year on year in the domestic market hitting 38.62 million tons, of which steaming coal accounted for 37.63 million tons and coke accounted for 990,000 tons.
